Accountability framework - Craft Leader + Management Leader

How to use

(1) Take the framework and adapt it for your context. Your teams may have slightly different default accountabilities in their situation, so adjust accordingly (e.g. org structure and craft metrics may come from outside the team).

(2) Once a model is in place that fits your teams, each Craft Leader / Management Leader pair needs to work through this model, writing down specific accountabilities that each will take on. This builds explicit, shared understanding.

(3) Finally each leadership pair then needs to communicate their accountability split - up, down and sideways - so anyone in their team can easily identify who makes which decisions.

Key point: Don't grab this and insist that your leadership peer follows it to the letter. Work through each column in the framework together. Every team is a collection of exceptions, so adapting the framework to your context is the point. Documentation is of minimal value without shared understanding.
